On 9 July 2020, Prime Minister Hon Scott Morrison MP together with Acting Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs Hon Alan Tudge MP announced new visa arrangements for Hong Kong passport holders to remain in Australia, with pathways to permanent residency.
